If it doesn’t benefit me and my future self, I don’t want it! As empaths, we have a tendency to want to take on everybody else’s problems. We are quick to try to bail someone out of a tough situation. The truth is, a person’s station in life has a lot to do with their choices. Their bad choices to not mean that you have to pick up the slack and bail them out. If he is in between jobs, encourage him to keep looking. I
f he is in between houses, wish him well and offer him a blanket. If he is working through a “complicated relationship”, best wishes and keep it moving. You have worked too hard to get caught up with anyone or anything that will derail you progress. It’s not selfish. It’s self-love.
